Hands-On Learning Experience
The team is made up of students looking to gain practical, hands on experience in designing and building heavy machinery. Students don’t have to be an expert mechanic or come from a farm; all that is required is a willingness to learn and a desire to achieve excellence!
Networking Opportunities
Team members benefit from direct contact with industry representatives whether through local sponsors or during competition events. Many of our alumni have secured jobs at leading agricultural machinery design and manufacturing companies due to their involvement with the 1/4 Scale Team.
Innovative Design
Each year the team designs and builds a complete prototype by implementing innovative elements to prove on the success of previous years. Apart from the competition specified engine and rear tires, the entire design strategy and responsibility is in the hands of the team.
Team Building
Team members benefit from peer collaboration and mentorship from senior students. There is always fun to be had as well; shop nights, practice pulling, industry tours, and a trip to competition in Peoria, IL.
